Burger King Franchisees Thomas Crowson, Todd Jackson and Colby Kaminer, the partners behind CKJ Management, are focused on revitalizing 20 Burger King restaurants across Florida by investing in operational excellence and building a foundation for long-term growth.
Before joining the Burger King system, Thomas, Todd and Colby spent years operating fast-casual restaurants, and as they looked to expand their portfolio, they sought a legacy brand with strong name recognition and growth potential. After evaluating several opportunities, Burger King stood out, and what began as plans to acquire a handful of restaurants evolved into the opportunity to acquire an entire market.
For Thomas, Todd and Colby, the Burger King brand’s global recognition and momentum behind the Reclaim the Flame strategy made it an exciting investment. Since assuming ownership of the restaurants in July 2025, they have focused on improving operational consistency and restoring sales performance across the portfolio.
Their early priorities centered on the fundamentals that matter most to Guests, including food quality and service execution. At the same time, they worked to align operators and create greater consistency across the organization. A key part of that effort has been investing in people and building a culture centered on accountability and support.
The experience of transforming an entire market has also reinforced an important leadership lesson. As Thomas, Todd and Colby explain, “Anytime we lean too heavily into quality, people, or profits, the other two suffer. Maintaining that balance requires constant discussion, alignment, and discipline.” That philosophy continues to guide decision-making across the business as they work to improve operations and position the portfolio for long-term profitability.
For Thomas, Todd and Colby, the most rewarding part of the journey has been seeing progress take shape across their restaurants. From strengthening teams and elevating operations to returning stores toward prior sales levels, they are focused on creating a better experience for Team Members and Guests while building a stronger business for the future.
